Saudia Arabia intercepts seven Houthi missiles

The Spokesman of the Arab Coalition Forces Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, Colonel Turki bin Saleh Al-Malki, on Sunday night said that air defence forces have intercepted seven ballistic missiles from within Yemeni territory towards Saudi Arabia, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
According to Colonel Al-Maliki, three of the missiles were heading towards Riyadh, while another targeted the city of Khamis Mushait, another was heading to Najran and two others targeted Jizan, adding that the missiles were launched “in a random manner, targeting populated, civilian areas.”
He said that the Royal Saudi Air Defence forces managed to intercept and destroy all the missiles, however missile fragments fell on a residential neighbourhood, resulting in the death of an Egyptian expatriate and wounded two others.
The Media Spokesman of the Civil Defence in Riyadh Maj. Mohammed Al-Hammadi said that the Civil Defence teams in Riyadh on Sunday evening responded to an incident involving missile fragments falling into a residential neighbourhood. “Shrapnel fell on a residential house resulting in the martyrdom of an expatriate and the wounding of two others, all of them of Egyptian nationality,” he said.
Al-Maliki said that this hostile and indiscriminate action by the Iranian-backed Houthis “proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime’s support for the Houthi armed group”, adding it is “a clear and explicit challenge”, and in “violation of UN Resolutions 2216 and 2231,” which threatens the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and
regional and international security.
He reaffirmed that the firing of ballistic missiles towards populated cities and villages is contrary to international humanitarian law, stressing that the actions of the Houthis is a serious development in the war against terrorist organisations and those who back and support them, including state sponsors of terrorism such as Iran, added SPA.

Arab Parliament condemns attacks on saudi arabia
The Arab Parliament Speaker, Dr. Mishaal Al Salami, has strongly condemned the firing of ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia by Houthi militias.
Dr Al Salami said, “This is a flagrant violation of international law, a clear defiance of UN resolutions, and a threat to regional and international security,” Dr Al Salami said in a statement.
OIC denounces missile attacks
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has strongly condemned the Houthi missile attacks towards several cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the capital, Riyadh.
The OIC Secretary-General, Dr. Yousef A. Al Othaimeen, said that the continued firing of missiles on the Kingdom by the Houthis is both hostile and criminal, and is an attempt to terrorise civilians and destabilise the safety and security of Saudi Arabia.

Attacks a cowardly act, says GCC Secretary-General
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Secretary-General of the GCC has condemned the launch of the seven ballistic missiles by Houthi militias on Saturday across a number of populated cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the capital Riyadh.
“These attacks are a cowardly act of terrorism targeting civilian populations and endangering their security,” he said, praising the efficiency and readiness of Saudi Royal Air Defence forces.

UAE condemns Houthi attacks

The UAE has strongly condemned the attacks carried out by Houthi militias who used Iranian-made missiles to target Saudi Arabia in an attempt to terrorise civilians and damage the Kingdom’s infrastructure. A statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Monday reiterated the UAE’s full stand with its sisterly country, in the face of this escalation of hostilities. It added that the attacks reflect the Iranian-backed Houthi militias intransigence and its insistence on destabilising the region’s security and stability.
The ministry said that these repeated attacks and hostile acts by the Houthis underscores the need for a firm stance, and called on the international community to join forces to confront this serious scourge to ensure stability in the region. The statement further affirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Kingdom, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of national and regional security.
