RTA completes second phase of ‘audit licence programme’

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai, completed the second phase of the training programme called “Audit Licence Programme.” RTA completed the first phase of training last April.
The programme aims to make employees aware of the importance of internal audit and groom them for practising internal monitoring within their respective organisations by furnishing them with all applicable audit techniques that will help improve their performances.
“This is part of a series of ongoing programmes undertaken by the RTA for enhancing skills and competencies of staff members, and enriching the careers of RTA employees in general. It is also part of our endeavour to introduce best global practices and standards,” said Kawther Kazim, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at the RTA.
“The programme, undertaken in co-ordination with the Internal Audit Department, underscores the importance of issuing the Audit Licence in realising RTA’s strategy of ensuring employee transparency. It also enables practising best-in-class internal monitoring techniques in a way that serves the interest of the RTA in terms of nurturing a creative work environment besides cementing the loyalty and a sense of belonging between the RTA and its employees,” she added.

“The programme is made up of two parts. The first is theoretical and is intended to give trainees an overview of internal audit, as well as its charter and manual, anti-fraud and internal control policy. It will also give employees exposure to all sections of the Internal Audit Department. The other part is practical and involves the engagement of trainees in all phases of the internal audit process, linking them to auditors and helping them conduct field surveys and examine risks associated with the scope of the job,” Kazim explained.
