The seventh Pink Caravan Ride will be hosting the ‘Pink Regatta’, a boat parade on the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf along the shores of The Palm, Dubai, a day-long event for actively involving citizens and residents of Dubai in generating awareness of breast cancer.
Several boat owners and sailing enthusiasts have signed up in support of one of the UAE’s largest breast cancer awareness campaign, which has travelled 1,440 kms across the seven emirates, screening 41,391 people at 455 medical clinics for breast cancer since 2011. Along the way, it has won the support of more than 400 riders and 650 volunteers.
Pink boats provided for the second year in a row by Nakheel Group will set off from two piers, one at the Palm, and the other picking up horse riders after their campaign through the emirate, from Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The two routes, covering the Marina Canal and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, will merge together at The Palm Dubai. 20 breast cancer survivors who belong to the UAE-based informal support group ‘Pink Ladies’, will also be part of this event.
“The goal is to generate awareness in the community about this devastating disease that affects so many of us. Nakheel Properties teamed up with the Pink Caravan Ride to successfully get this message across, and raise funds that will help us throughout the year in providing financial and medical support to patients in need,” said Nada Askar Al Naqbi,
