The Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 follows the progress of repairing damaged water networks to re-operate main water wells, reservoirs, and destroyed pipelines.
The imitative enables Khan Younis Municipality to provide humanitarian services to residents and displaced families in the city, alleviating their struggles to access water, and preventing health disasters.
A specialised company is working on repairing the damaged lines after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Khan Younis Municipality as part of the UAE’s efforts to find urgent humanitarian solutions and fund the re-operation of water wells and reservoirs in the city, many of which have been severely damaged.
The damage to the main water networks reached approximately 70 percent, while 25 wells were completely destroyed and 12 were partially destroyed.
This has exacerbated the water crisis in the city over recent months and making it difficult for the displaced people to access water.
Through this humanitarian project, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 aims to repair water submersible pumps in the city, provide necessary materials for extending external water networks, purchase water barrels to place at central filling points, and supply operational materials (solar and gas), and the maintenance of water submersibles to deliver water to densely populated areas where displaced people are concentrated. This aims to prevent health disasters, improve the environmental situation, and provide services to residents.
Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 provides urgent solutions and aid to alleviate the suffering of displaced Palestinian families who face difficulties in accessing water, which leads to a humanitarian disaster. The operation seeks to provide water through the distribution of gallons and a distribution project in the city, in addition to the repair campaign carried out with Khan Younis Municipality and the Coastal Municipalities Water Utility in the Gaza Strip.
