Noor Awqaf, a joint venture between Noor Investment Group (NIG) and Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) was honoured as winner of the “Waqf and Endowments” category at the 2016 Islamic Economy Awards.
Tayeb Abdulrahman Al-Rais, Secretary-General of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, received the award on behalf of Noor Awqaf.
Speaking about the win, Ehsaan Ahmed, General Manager, Noor Awqaf, said, “We are pleased to receive this award, which is a strong recognition of how within a short period, Noor Awqaf has managed to establish an operating model that adds value to Awqaf entities, to help implement strategic initiatives, deliver operational efficiencies and enhance profitability.”
The award win follows an extensive judging process conducted by the Global Islamic Economy’s panel of esteemed judges.
Noor Awqaf was announced as winner after a thorough analysis from numerous submissions from around the region. It was distinguished for its innovative structure and significant social and economic impact.
Noor Awqaf supports the UAE Government’s vision to position Dubai as the world’s capital for the Islamic economy. It aspires to deepen relationships with Awqaf organizations not just locally, but in other countries as well, to extend benefits globally.
The Global Islamic Economy Awards was hosted in the presence of 2,000 policy makers and business leaders from across the Islamic world at the Madinat Jumeirah.
