Organized by RG Media, part of RG Group, the event will take place at Zabeel Park, Gate 3, with doors opening at 3:00 PM. The event will feature a 3-kilometre awareness walk, interactive leisure activities, and engaging talks where participants can hear real-life experiences and learn practical tips for leading a healthier lifestyle.
This year’s World Diabetes Day theme, ‘Diabetes and Wellbeing,’ highlights the connection between mental health and diabetes. A recent survey by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) revealed that 77% of people living with diabetes have experienced mental health challenges, such as anxiety or depression, due to their condition. With diabetes care often focusing solely on blood sugar, many feel unsupported in other aspects of life with the condition. This event seeks to change that by putting well-being at the forefront of diabetes care.
Earlier this month, on November 14, 2024, NMC further proved its commitment to diabetes awareness by offering free health checks at selected malls and community shopping centers across the UAE, encouraging early detection and prevention.
