H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, attended on Tuesday the graduation ceremony of the 11th National Defence Course cohort, and the fifth War Course of the War College at the Joint Command and Staff College.
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed congratulated the graduates of the two courses, wishing them success in fulfilling their mission towards their nation and contributing to preserving its gains and interests. H.H. urged them to employ the skills and academic and knowledge-based experiences they have acquired during this course to upgrade the capabilities of their national institutions to which they belong. H.H. stressed that this academic institution is a living symbol of strategic intellectual maturity in line with the vision of the wise leadership.
H.H. praised the role of the National Defense College (NDC) and the War College in training and preparing Emirati military and civilian leaders who can adapt to rapidly changing diplomatic, economic, informational, and military landscapes.
Addressing the ceremony, Major General Salem Saeed bin Harmal Al Shamsi, Commander of the National Defence College, said the mandate of the National Defense College and the War College is to prepare and qualify senior military and civilian leaders in security, strategic and operational fields through comprehensive multi-speciality education, which enables them to bear the responsibility of making decisions and managing crises.
He added that the National Defense College and the War College, in implementation of the directives and aspirations of the UAE’s wise leadership, strive to keep pace with the latest developments in various fields and follow up on changes in the strategic environment to develop educational programs and maintain vision and mission in order to achieve aspired goals and aspirations.
As part of the ceremony, H.H. presented the graduates with certificates certifying that they had successfully completed all the academic requirements of the programme, and took a group photo with the cohort.
Mohamed Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with senior commanders and officials attended the ceremony.
