Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received Argentina’s Vice President Gabriela Michetti at Zabeel Palace on Thursday.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid hoped the visit would yield positive results that would improve bilateral relations to serve the interests of both countries.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed praised the progress by Argentina which he had visited last year.
HH hailed the Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement the UAE and Argentina signed as a step in the right direction in expanding bilateral co-operation and communication in areas of economy, tourism and investment.
Michetti said she was delighted at visiting the UAE and holding talks with senior officials about ways of enhancing the bonds of culture, tourism and trade. She called for building a constructive partnership that serves the interests of the two countries. ”The private sector in the UAE can play a significant role in that respect in light of the new flexible laws issued by Argentina to promote, protect and attract foreign investment,” she added
She said her country gives top priority to its relations with the UAE driven by the history of good ties and its status as a global beacon of progress in diverse sectors as infrastructure. She also lauded the flexible laws, tolerance and harmony among different cultures residing together in a community characterised by affection, co-existence, social and living stability, along with other amenities for a decent and safe life.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group; Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, a number of senior officials, and Fernando Ramon Martinis, Ambassador of the Republic of
Argentina to the UAE.
