The visit of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has taken centre stage in Indian media, with newspapers prominently featuring his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a symbol of the strong ties between the two nations.
Indian newspapers have extensively covered the visit, emphasising the deep-rooted relationship between India and the UAE. This visit holds considerable significance, especially during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, which commenced today and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed is the Chief Guest at the event.
The Indian Express reported that Prime Minister Modi and President Sheikh Mohamed began their roadshow on a three-kilometre-long route. The roadshow started from the airport and lasted 15 minutes till the two leaders reached Indira Bridge in Ahmedabad City in a car. A large number of people had gathered on both sides of the road to greet them. Banners were erected all along the route to welcome the UAE president.
Before the roadshow, Modi welcomed the UAE President at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. After receiving the UAE President, Modi posted on “X”, formerly known as “Twitter”: “Welcome to India, my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. It’s an honour to have you visit us.”
Similarly, the Times of India stated that “Giving a boost to Indo-UAE relations ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a bilateral meeting with visiting President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan here where several MoUs were signed.”
The paper added that in their fourth meeting in less than seven months, the leaders hailed the rapidly transforming India-UAE partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to a shared, prosperous future.
Furthermore, the Hindustan Times stated that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is one of the prominent events at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar. The visit is expected to strengthen the investment and trade relations between the two countries.
