MoE tours Int’l Center for Biosaline Agriculture

Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, visited the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture, ICBA, in Dubai and was briefed on its areas of work including techniques of water use, crops and non-conventional water resources, as well
as bioenergy crops such as
Salicornia.
This is one of a series of visits conducted by the minister to the local authorities concerned with the energy sector in the country, which aim to enhance communication, develop co-operation between the Ministry of Energy and its strategic partners, and discuss ways for mutual co-operation in order to diversify the energy sources while achieving sustainable development.
During the visit, Al Mazrouei met senior officials and experts of the ICBA and was briefed about the centre’s efforts and its experiences, studies and research in various fields, such as natural resource management, climate change adaptation, crop productivity and its diversity, and aquaculture and bio-energy, besides policy analysis in marginal
environments.
Al Mazrouei noted that the ministry has developed, in co-ordination and co-operation with the concerned authorities, a clear strategy to utlise every drop of water and increase the water reservoir in the country.
