The Ministry of Economy is to lead a trade delegation to the UAE-Moldovan Business Forum, which is taking place on February 8 and 9, in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau.
The UAE delegation will be headed by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, who will meet with Pavel Filip, Prime Minister of Moldova and other high-ranking officials of the Moldovan Government to discuss the future of bilateral economic and trade relations and review prominent areas for stimulating economic and trade cooperation.
The delegation will include
Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Shehhi, Under-Secretary for Economic Affairs, Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Under-Secretary for Foreign Trade Affairs and several senior officials from the federal and local government, along with representatives from the private sector.
Al Mansouri said that under its policy of openness, the UAE seeks to enhance economic and trade relations with various countries and establish mutually beneficial partnerships. He added that the upcoming business forum forms part of ongoing efforts to establish more active economic and trade relations with the public and private sectors by sharing and discussing opportunities and challenges. He also noted the importance of exchanging information and holding dialogues on key sectors targeted for development as well as opportunities for establishing partnerships that serve the respective development goals of both parties.
He emphasised the desire to explore investment opportunities available in the Moldovan markets, specifically in the areas of agriculture and food, energy, and tourism, arising from Moldova’s rich natural resources, fertile agricultural environment, and skilled workforce. He said that all fall under the priority economic sectors within the UAE’s development vision and will pave the way for more Emirati investments in Moldova.
