The Ministerial Development Council, chaired by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, held its meeting at Expo 2020 Dubai and discussed several key initiatives and projects aiming to further develop government work ecosystem.
The council discussed a number of legislations including the organisation of family business, the executive regulations of the Federal Law regarding the Rules and Certificates of Origin.
During the meeting, the council discussed the executive regulations of the Federal Trademarks Law to maintain a balance between effective protection of the rights of trademark owners and consumers and the public interest.
The law also aims to raise the country’s rank in the Global Innovation Index (GII) by creating an environment that encourages investment, diversity in economic activities, competitiveness and enhance researches, development and innovation.
The council also reviewed the executive regulations of Federal Law on Copyrights and Related Rights, which allows any natural or legal person to practice any listed activity without the need to be registered in the list of importers and distributors.
The Council discussed the executive regulations of Federal Law on the Regulation of the Auditing Profession, which addresses auditor registries, prerequisites, statements, conditions and documents for natural and legal persons practicing the profession, and other provisions complementing the law.
During its meeting, the Council reviewed and discussed a number of government reports, including the annual report of the Board of Directors of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) for the year 2021.
