Government, police and industry leaders witnessed a three-day meeting which focussed on thoughts and efforts to identify a more effective path to meet challenges posed by terrorism, organised crime and cybercrime in order to improve global security.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, the Unity for Security Forum was organised by the INTERPOL Foundation for a Safer World in partnership with the Government of the UAE from March 28-30 in Abu Dhabi.
Over three days, discussions centred around seven INTERPOL projects – funded by a EUR 50 million contribution by the UAE – focusing on counter-terrorism, cybercrime, cultural heritage, vulnerable communities, vehicle crime, drugs and illicit goods. The UAE’s support for the INTERPOL seven projects underscores its continued commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the international community and underlines its belief that the fight against crime requires concerted efforts and global coordination.
The meeting was opened by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, INTERPOL Secretary-General Jurgen Stock and President of the INTERPOL Foundation for a Safer World Elias Murr.
The forum brought together ministers with responsibility for security portfolios, senior police officials, and representatives from the private sector, to collectively address common issues.

Unity for Security enabled participants to identify their responsibilities in implementing a global policing architecture to combat future security threats.
