Mashreq, the UAE’s market leader in innovation, has been conferred EFMA’s ‘Innovation of the Month’ award for its latest innovation Mashreq Bot, an Artificial Intelligence agent or chat-bot – programmed to enable an intelligent conversation with users. The UAE’s First chat-bot allows customers to review Mashreq products, perform card-less cash transactions, low ticket local transfers and enquire about balances or recent transactions on all accounts and credit cards.
The BOT can be conveniently accessed through Facebook Messenger application by simply selecting ‘MashreqBot’ in the search tab.
The customers will be engaged in a conversation with the robot which will guide them through a series of security authentication steps using Mashreq’s online banking and a One Time Password to the registered mobile number. After activating and linking the Bot, customers will be able to check banking products and do various chat-based transactions in a simple and easy fashion anywhere and instantly.
Aref Al Ramli, Head of Digital Banking & Innovation commented, “We are honored to be a recipient of this award. Mashreq ChatBot, which is the region’s first ever Bot, gives us confidence that customers are ready to adopt to fast paced technology solutions. We are committed to launching ‘innovations that matter’ to customers that make a meaningful difference to them and subsequently make their banking experience fun, simple and engaging. The Bot comes after a series of breakthroughs such as the UAE’s first card control feature and voice powered payments.”
Mashreq Chat Banking allows customers to communicate with their bank in the same way they would communicate with their friends. By moving client interaction away from the traditional channels, the ease and convenience with which customers can carry out transactions has been increased. Mashreq will further expand the BOT beyond Facebook Messenger with an aim to migrate 70% of customer queries to Mashreq Chat Banking in 2017.
