Khalifa Foundation, DIB join hands to support university students

The Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to assist students with limited economic status who complete their academic studies at public universities, including UAE University, Zayed University and Higher Colleges of Technology.
The MoU was signed by Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of the Khalifa Foundation and Abdul Razzaq Abdullah Al Abdullah, Head of Community Services at the DIB.
The signing of the MoU comes within the framework of the Khalifa Foundation’s humanitarian cooperation with the national institutions and the private sector to facilitate the mechanisms used in carrying out its initiatives of the Year of Giving, and implement its humanitarian projects targeting the needy, as well as the development of charitable work in general and the support of the educational sector in particular.
The MoU also aims to achieve mutual cooperation between the two parties, promote strategic partnership, establish joint activities that benefit local communities, and raise awareness on charitable and humanitarian issues.
It also aims to support some service projects for the first party, promote social welfare and support the low-income, especially the students of higher education at public universities, who are eligible for support.
The deal calls for provision of 1,775 iPads and laptop computers to higher education students to assist them in their academic achievement.
