H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has visited the Green Zone pavilions at COP28, which is being hosted by the UAE until 12th December.
His Highness toured a number of hubs and pavilions dedicated to sharing insights and solutions to support the global clean energy transition and drive climate action to meet net-zero goals.
During the tour, His Highness visited the UAE’s House of Sustainability, a pavilion showcasing the UAE’s environmental history and plans to achieve the country’s net-zero goals, where His Highness emphasised how the UAE’s long-running efforts in sustainability have led to the country taking a leading role in promoting the global clean energy transition and reduction of carbon emissions.
His Highness’s tour also included the pavilions of Abu Dhabi Global Market and Masdar, where he met with members of the Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S) initiative and praised the role of youth in leading the global sustainability agenda.
His Highness also reaffirmed the leadership’s commitment to empowering Emirati youth and providing them with the skills, knowledge and opportunities to find future jobs in the sustainability field, and to further enhance their role in leading climate action.
His Highness also visited the Youth Hub, which brings together young people to discuss climate issues, and the Energy Transition Hub, which serves as a place for connecting, collaborating, and sharing insights, strategies, and solutions to combat climate change.
His Highness was accompanied by Ahmed Jassem Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
