The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) marked International Happiness Day on Sunday by organising a series of activities and programmes at the Authority’s Family Gathering Centre.
The centre is the only
dedicated centre in the emirate that provides both in-patient as well as outpatient services for the elderly.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, said: “We celebrate this day with the elderly to thank them for all the sacrifices and efforts they have undertaken in their lifetime to provide the youth of UAE with a bright future. At the DHA, customer care and happiness is at the heart of our strategy and all our initiatives, policies and processes are designed keeping customer care, happiness and satisfaction in mind.”
Al Qatami spent time with members of the centre and they listened to traditional songs and poems as part of the activities that were organised to mark this day.
Al Qatami distributed flowers and gifts to the elderly and assured them of high-quality health services at the Centre.
The DHA’s Family Gathering centre provides in-patient as well as out-patient services and promotes the concept of healthy ageing and proactive geriatric care for the elderly to minimize health complications and to reduce their dependence on caregivers so that they can lead an independent life to the best extent possible.
