HP has unleashed a new line of products, dubbed Omen, in a bid to tackle the gaming world with a range of updated laptops, desktops, and accessories. The line, which launched recently with four key products — two laptops, a tower, and a display —also adheres to an aggressive pricing structure, starting at US$899.99 for the smaller 15.6-inch laptop version, with the 17.3-inch model priced at US$979.99.
The former utilises Intel’s Core i3 processors, while the larger model starts with an i5 processor. Both will be available starting July 10, and can be configured with up to an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 965M GPU, and a 4K display.
The Omen desktop by comparison, will not hit shelves until August, and has not yet been priced, although it is expected to be VR ready and compatible to run features such as HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
The tower will use the smaller microATX form factor and offer options like Nvidia’s Founders Edition graphics cards and water cooling.
