Hala, Dubai’s most convenient e-hailing taxi solution, has wrapped up its Ramadan initiative raising AED 300,000 to support its Captains during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Launched in partnership with Careem, Hala matched every customer tip, while also facilitating the distribution of over 17,000 iftar meals.
At a time when the region comes together with a strong sense of unity, the initiative was designed to make it easy for customers to directly support Captains through everyday moments. Integrated within the Careem app, the feature allowed users to add a tip at the end of each ride, which was then automatically matched, turning a simple action into a gesture of appreciation.
The initiative benefited over 11,400 Hala Captains, each earning an average additional AED 13 per ride during the Holy Month, reflecting how small, everyday contributions can add up across the city.
Khaled Nuseibeh, CEO of Hala, said: “The Holy Month of Ramadan is a time that brings communities together, and this year it was beautifully reflected in how customers showed their gratitude to our Captains; particularly during this time when showing up for one another matters even more. The tip-matching initiative shows how small, everyday actions can add up to something meaningful.”
“Our Captains are at the heart of everything we do. This is about supporting them in ways that matter, whether that’s through additional earnings, shared meals, or simply making their day-to-day routines easier.”
Hala also focused on making it easier for Captains to break their fast while on duty. In collaboration with My Govinda’s 10,000 iftar meals, a total of over 17,000 were made available at accessible locations across the city.
Furthermore, Hala also implemented a series of Captain recognition initiatives to showcase their dedication in keeping the city moving. The e-hailing taxi solution recognised standout performers based on overall performance, service excellence, and key operational metrics such as trips, acceptance rate and online hours. Cash prizes exceeding AED 30,000, alongside the distribution of gift hampers sponsored by Motorola, were awarded as part of the programme.
As Dubai continues to evolve, Hala remains committed to creating a more connected and human-centric mobility experience — where community and generosity go hand in hand.
