Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County is ramping up construction this summer and dedicating several houses to deserving families.
RE/MAX Professional Realty Group in Owensboro is participating in its first ever build this year. Manager Michelle Wiesman said the company is excited to be a part of changing families’ lives in the greater Owensboro region.
Realtors with RE/MAX fundraise with Aid the Homeless, and Wiesman said this build is another exciting way to give back.”This is the first house we’ve ever sponsored, and we’re so excited,” she said. “We’re all about being involved in the community.”
Wiesman said they don’t expect to break ground on the home until this fall, but next month, the RE/MAX home will be one of two involved in Help Build Hope at the Owensboro Convention Center.
Then, volunteers will construct the walls for upcoming build projects in the region. The event partners Cross Roads Missions in Louisville with the Owensboro Family YMCA.
Anyone can participate at the free event in downtown Owensboro. Supplies will be provided for volunteers who are invited to turn out on July 30 to help pre-build homes. Habitat for Humanity is dedicating two new homes.
The Home Builders Association of Owensboro helped build home in the 1400 block of Benton Avenue. Stacey Joslin, Habitat board member and public relations chair, said the organization wants to invite anyone to participate in builds or
celebrations.
