The national initiative for a green economy launched by Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was the crux of a coordination meeting held by the ministries of Infrastructure Development and Climate Change and Environment .
The national initiative for a green economy in the UAE was launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed in 2012 under the slogan “Green Economy for Sustainable Development†to turn the UAE to be a global hub and successful model for green growth and sustainable development.
Engineer Hassan Goma’ Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, underscored the ministry’s keenness to collaborate with its different strategic partners to achieve the objectives of the UAE National Agenda, including the Green Development Initiative in order to maintain the stature of the UAE as a sustainable environment for development and growth.
“The infrastructure development enterprises executed by the Ministry serve as a role model for development thanks to the support provided by the country’s wise leadership to the entire development drive, including all its economic, social, environmental and energy platforms. Such projects have proved to be robust enablers for growth and for achieving the 2021 objectives,†Al Mansouri added.
The ministry within this context seeks to follow internationally recognised practices and recruit best-in-class talents from different fields to ensure best possible application of sustainability standards in areas of infrastructure.
