Gold prices hold ground on Tuesday

WORLD CAPITALS / WAM

Gold held steady on Tuesday as investors stayed on the sidelines ahead of the US Federal Reserve policy meeting this week, which could offer further clues on the timing of likely interest rate cuts this year, Reuters said. Spot gold was little changed at $2,160.79 per ounce, as of 0426 GMT. US gold futures were flat at $2,164.10.
Spot silver gained 0.3% to $25.10 per ounce, platinum rose 0.3% to $915.65, palladium slipped 1.3% to $1,019.26.
