GDRFA-Dubai, Azerbaijan’s IMS discuss coop

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai and the International Migration Service (IMS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan discussed ways to strengthen co-operation and exchange knowledge in the field of border security, customer services, and other smart services.
These issues came up during the recent visit of a high-level delegation headed by Major General Veridian Nabiyev, Chief of the IMS of Azerbaijan, to GDRFA. The delegation was received by Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Marri, Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai. The visit was part of co-operation between the two countries to develop and raise the level of security, Major General Al Marri said.
The delegation visited the Entry Permits and Residency Department, and learnt about the tasks and services offered with regard to residency related issues. They also visited the Naturalisation Department and learnt about the mechanism of issuing electronic passports and the legislation of naturalisation and the applicable systems.
The delegation then visited the Innovation and Creative Centre to learn about the latest experiences and thoughts in the field of innovation and services it offered.
Earlier, they had also toured the GDRFA stand at the recently concluded GITEX Technology Week, to learn about the integrated methodology followed for smart services in the process of intelligence switching. The delegation completed their tour by visiting the Training and Development of Performance Department and learnt of the role of the department in training its employees in all specialisations related to the Dubai Residency Department.
The Azerbaijani delegation members appreciated the achievements of the Residency Department which make it the most prominent electronic and smart
department in the country.
