The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ (MBRGI) Digital School has partnered with Jordan’s Ministry of Education to transform the Emirati-Jordanian Refugee Camp’s school in Mrajeeb Al Fhood into a full-fledged digital school, serving grades 1-12.
The Digital School Initiative has been created primarily to empower refugees and underserved students. The initiative caters to young people irrespective of their social, economic and educational backgrounds. It aims to provide certified online education to students across the world, primarily those belonging to underserved communities.
Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Digital School, said in a recorded speech that turning the Camp’s school into a fully integrated digital one represents a new milestone in the fruitful cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
“The launch marks a new success story for a humanitarian education project that reflects the visionary vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to provide educational opportunities for the least fortunate students in the world and to provide a modern and distinguished educational experience for the Syrian refugees,” said the minister.
The launch was attended by Hamoud Al Junaibi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) along with senior officials from the Jordanian Ministry of Education, the UAE Embassy, the Digital School and the Emirati-Jordanian Refugee Camp’s school in Mrajeeb Al Fhood.
The School fosters a dynamic learning environment for approximately 2,500 students. By implementing a comprehensive digital transformation model, the school has demonstrably enhanced the student experience. All its 45 classrooms are now equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support digital learning, including interactive displays and reliable internet access.
