The sixth Arab Conference for Investment in Food Security will be held in the emirate on November 14-15.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, the six edition is themed, ‘Smart Agriculture is a Promising Option for the
Arab World’.
The conference is being organised by the Arab Chamber Union, the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment, the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Arab League General Secretariat, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the Arab Investment and Agricultural Development Authority, the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development, and the Arab Union of Food Industries, with the participation of Arab chambers and federations, leading Arab and international companies in the food security sector, and relevant Arab and international funding authorities.
Khalid Mohammed Al Jassem, Director-General of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the conference aims to highlight the importance of investing in smart agriculture, which emphasises the optimal use of agriculture on the smallest area of land and the consumption of the least amount of water to obtain the best crop production.
