Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC), received Li Shi, CEO of Huawei UAE.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the vital role the UAE’s information technology sector plays, and the various innovative initiatives launched under the leadership’s guidance, to employ the sciences and artificial intelligence for a better future, and qualify the nation’s citizens as active role models advancing the UAE’s position in the ICT sector.
Dr Al Qubaisi noted the UAE’s future goals to be a top ten nation globally attaining excellence, competitiveness and innovative outcomes across all sectors, marking it a leader in achieving sustainable development indicators over the next four-year period.
For his part, Li Shi praised the UAE for providing the science and technology sector with all the modern, innovative and forward-looking policies that focus on education, pointing out that the UAE is a leading country in this field, making great strides in incorporating innovative technologies in the education sector.
He said that there is excellent cooperation between Huawei and many universities in the UAE in the field, where students are prepared for the future, via knowledge exchange and visits, especially in the artificial intelligence sector.
