Five UAE students qualify for International Physics Olympiad

Five students from the UAE have been shortlisted to
represent the nation on an international stage, the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO). IPhO is an annual international physics competition for secondary school students. The process of shortlisting students for the big stage is done by IOF (International Olympiad Foundation), the only authorized body in UAE to shortlist students for International Olympiads. “The task is tiring yet rewarding”, says Nikhil, the co-ordinator for IOF. “Identifying the raw talents and enhancing their potential to reach the best stage is the actual challenge”, he adds.
“The IOF has played an incredible role in spreading awareness and encouraging all the eligible students in the region to participate in the exams,” says father of Dhruv Sandeep Jain, one of the
students. The UAE team includes Apurba de (The
Millennium school, Dubai)- 17 years of age, Ashwin Sudheer (Our Own English High School, Sharjah)- 16 years of age, Devanshee Mishra
(Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi) -17 years of age, Dhruv Sandeep Jain (Indian High School, Dubai) -17 years of age, Shivangi Jha (Indian High School, Dubai)
-17 years of age.
