The first-ever Abu Dhabi Aviation and Aerospace Week (ADAAW) held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, welcomed thousands of executives, exhibitors, and other key stakeholders to the UAE capital since its doors opened on March 6, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading industry hub.
“Abu Dhabi Emirate is proud to host the largest ever high-profile collection of innovative events dedicated to the aviation and aerospace sector,†said Mubarak Al Shamisi, Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau Director, a division of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, a key organiser for the week.
“The constructive and progressive dialogue that has taken place on the future of the industry is testament to Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a major hub for aviation and aerospace,†he added.
This week’s ADAAW, characterised by six key events, sees the launch of Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016, which also features the Middle East Aviation Career Conference and Exhibition alongside the Abu Dhabi Heli Expo. The event, hosted by Abu Dhabi Airports, will bring together thousands of global industry stakeholders at Al Bateen Executive Airport to highlight and discuss the latest developments in aviation innovation and business practice, in line with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2021.
Today brings to a close the week’s first three events: the second Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX 2016), the first Simulation Conference and Exhibition, and the third Global Aerospace Summit, all of which were held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC.
UMEX 2016 and the Simulation Conference and Exhibition have served as vital platforms in fostering relationships between manufacturers and operators across unmanned systems technology and military training equipment, while the exclusive Global Aerospace Summit brought senior executives under one roof to delve into innovation across the industry going forward.
