ERC’s sacrificial drive to benefit 298,600 beneficiaries

Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) launched its annual sacrificial animal campaign nationwide to raise funds for the project set to benefit over 298,600 beneficiaries, of whom 70,100 beneficiaries are in the UAE.
The cost of the sacrificial animals is estimated at AED12 million this year.
The project, which will see slaughter and distribution of 28,305 sacrificial animals locally and abroad, will cover the needs of 228,500 people in 60 countries around the world. Of these 14,020 sacrificial animals will be slaughtered and distributed within the state, while 14,285 abroad.
This came during a press conference held by the ERC headquarters in Abu Dhabi today in the presence of the deputies of the ERC Secretary-General and a number of directors of branches and departments as well as sponsors of the campaign.
Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary of Local Affairs at the ERC, stressed that the campaign aims at strengthening the bridges of communication among all sectors in the country to support the ERC efforts locally and abroad.
