The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched its winter aid campaign, benefiting 250,000 people around the world. This initiative aims to mitigate the impact of cold weather, particularly in countries hosting refugees.
The campaign includes the distribution of large quantities of food and health packages, winter clothing, heating devices and materials, blankets, children’s supplies, and other shelter materials.
Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the ERC, said that the winter aid programme alleviates the suffering of vulnerable groups in countries known for their cold weather and seasonal fluctuations during this time of year.
This also includes refugees both inside and outside camps who face harsh natural conditions, which affect their health, particularly those of children and the elderly.
He reaffirmed the ERC’s commitment to strengthening its humanitarian efforts for those affected by climatic conditions in dozens of countries worldwide.
Al Mansouri added, “Food is considered a protective shield for those affected by the winter, especially for their health, which is why the ERC gives it great attention during the coming period.”
