ERC unveils artesian wells project in Hadramaut

Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) on launched on Saturday a project for drilling of artesian wells at Ramah Directorate in Yemen.
The project aims to drill 18 wells in Hadramaut Governorate to benefit people living in the desert facing frequent water shortage.
Hamdan Al Menhali, Supervisor of ERC at Hadramaut valley and desert, said that the implementation of the project was in line with the UAE’s efforts to improve infrastructure projects in Hadramaut. The project will include installation of pumping units to deliver water to these areas, he added.
The authority is working to solve water shortage and scarcity problems in the desert areas of the governorate, he remarked.
Abdullah Al Musafri, ERC representative in Hadramaut, said the project demonstrated the focus of the UAE and its leadership towards improving humanitarian conditions in Hadramaut.
The project will contribute to enhancing the living conditions of the people in these areas, he noted. The people have extended their thanks and appreciation to the UAE and ERC for implementing vital projects that have benefited them, Al Musafri stated.
