The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has held a ceremony for 7,692 orphans sponsored by the organisation in Khartoum, attended by Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan, and a number of Sudanese Ministers and officials. During the event, the orphans and their guardians received over AED33.8 million in aid which was deposited to an individual account opened for each orphan’s ‘family’, along with ATM cards.
Musa Mohamed Ahmed, Assistant to the President of Sudan, praised the UAE for caring for orphans in his country and for providing them with a decent living.
