Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) opened a building for blind in the Yemeni Directorate of Tarim in Hadramaut valley, following the completion of rehabilitation in accordance with an agreement signed last April to rehabilitate the building to support the community.
The move is part of the ERC development and service projects carried out in Hadramaut and various liberated areas.
The opening ceremony was attended by Col. Mansour al-Tamimi, Director General of Tarim Directorate, Khalil al-Tamimi, Consultant of the ERC’s projects in Hadramout, Sheikh Obaid bin Kordous al-Tamimi, a social figure, and Aqeel Salem Al Kaf, Director of the Blind Association.
Abdullah al-Musafari, Head of the ERC team, said that the opening of the building after completion of its rehabilitation comes within the framework of the authority’s interest in supporting people with disabilities, being an integral part of the community fabric of Hadramaut.
The beneficiaries thanked the UAE leadership, government and people for continued assistance, citing the rehabilitation of the building for blind as an example.
