The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, on Thursday launched a campaign to distribute humanitarian aid to the victims of floods and rains that hit large parts of Sudan. The campaign began with distributing more than a thousand blankets and some food parcels to those affected by the floods as a first stage.
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) the beneficiaries praised the humanitarian assistance provided by the Emirates Red Crescent, saying that it meets their current needs and is helping them overcome the difficult conditions. The delegation from ERC is the first relief team to reach to the affected areas.
The rain and floods in Sudan have caused the deaths of 25 people and left at least 450 people homeless.
