GENEVA / WAM
The Emirates Policy Centre (EPC) has signed a partnership agreement with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) to strengthen research and intellectual’s cooperation between the two centres.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Ibtisam Al Ketbi, Head of the Emirates Policy Centre, who was visiting the Geneva Centre to deliver a lecture about the security challenges in the Middle East.
During the lecture, Dr. Al Ketbi presented an in-depth analysis of the security problems represented by the spread of extremism and terrorism and the phenomenon of failed states, the collapse of governments and the failure of development plans, as well as asylum and immigration.
She pointed out the pivotal role played by the UAE and called for the need to adopt the UAE’s model of development, coexistence and moderation.
Dr. Al Ketbi also dealt with Iranian policies seeking to dominate the Arab region through undermining states’ sovereignty and interference in internal affairs, feeding wars and dissemination of sectarian divisions.
The lecture was attended by ambassadors of Arab and European countries in Geneva and a large number of researchers and experts, as well as international organisations.
