Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, on Monday inaugurated the 20th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2017.
The event is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and will run till November 16 under the theme, ‘Forging Ties, Driving Growth’.
ADIPEC 2017 comes at a time of cautious optimism among oil and gas producers. In the days before ADIPEC, global oil prices topped $60 per barrel for the first time in more than two years, while the industry is now benefiting from sustained and significant efforts to improve operational efficiencies and diversify operations as it adjusts to a changing energy landscape.
The theme, ‘Forging Ties, Driving Growth’, reflects an emphasis on the search for new partnerships and new opportunities as the foundation for generating sustainable, long-term revenues.
In an important change
for this year, ADIPEC has
expanded to include the oil and gas industry’s downstream sector for the first time, including refining
and non-fuel processing
such as petrochemicals, reflecting the increasingly diversified operations of NOCs and IOCs as they move to generate revenue from multiple layers of the petroleum value chain.
