Emirati medical cadres urged to join Somalia campaign

Dubai / WAM

Zayed Giving Convoys have invited Emirati medical cadres to volunteer through the “Doctors Programme,” which will allow them to participate in humanitarian missions of mobile caravan clinics and hospitals in Somalia.
The gesture is in response to 2017 being named the Year of Giving by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and coincides with the ‘For You Somalia Initiative’ to enhance the role played by UAE and its humanitarian and cultural role in easing the suffering of the Somali people. It is also part of the joint initiative by the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Association, Sharjah Charity International, and the Saudi-German Hospitals, which exemplify a model of distinguished joint humanitarian work.
Peace Ambassador Dr Reem Osman said that the initiative is aimed to promote the culture of giving and voluntary work among medical cadres.
