Elsa to lash Haiti before turning on Cuba, Florida

Bloomberg

Hurricane Elsa was expected to begin lashing Haiti and Dominican Republic on Saturday, touching off floods and landslides, as it moves across the Caribbean towards Cuba and Florida next week.
The Atlantic’s first hurricane of 2021, Elsa had top winds of 75 miles per hour and was about 110 miles southeast of Isla Beata, Dominican Republic, the National Hurricane Center said.
Elsa should retain its strength as a Category 1 storm on the five-step Saffiir-Simpson scale through the day, but could weaken on Sunday and on Monday after it passes just north of Jamaica and makes landfall in Cuba.
