Echo devices best-selling holiday products this year: Amazon

E-commerce giant Amazon has revealed the best-selling products across Amazon this year, boasting record-setting sales of its Echo gadget line.
According to the company, customers “gifted a record-setting number of devices from the Amazon Echo family, with sales up over 9x compared to last year’s holiday season and millions of Alexa devices sold worldwide this year”.
The Echo and Echo Dot were the best-selling products and have perfomed particularly well due to the rising popularity of the voice-activated Alexa feature, which “continues to get smarter every day”, said Jeff Wilke, CEO Worldwide Consumer, Amazon.
Commenting on the purchase figures, Wilke also said the devices were so popular that despite Amazon’s best efforts and ramped-up production, the company “still had trouble keeping them in stock”.
Amazon also released a bevy of fun facts related to the Alexa feature, including the most requested drink recipes (Tom Collins and Manhattan), favorite recipes (chocolate chip and sugar cookies), most requested holiday movies (“Home Alone” and “Elf”), and top holiday season songs — identified as “Jingle Bells” (1999 – Remaster) by Frank Sinatra, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey and “Feliz Navidad” by José Feliciano.
