Dubai Ladies Club, a member of Dubai Women Establishment, on Saturday hosted an Open Day for all Emirati women to mark the
occasion of Emirati Women’s Day.
The Open Day had a line-up of activities to celebrate the health and wellbeing of guests through a wide range of fitness and recreational exercises, including a special event where senior ladies from Thukhur Social Club were honoured.
The highlight of the Open Day was the special private gathering of elderly Emirati women, aged 60 and above, from Thukhur
Social Club. About 20 senior Emiratis were honoured for empowering future generations of UAE women.
Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, Director of Dubai Ladies Club said, “It is our privilege to host elderly Emirati ladies, who have been an inspiration to the younger generation on the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day.
This annual celebration reflects the trust and confidence bestowed by our wise leadership in UAE women as partners in nation building. Inspired by the steadfast dedication of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to highlight the status of UAE women as pillars of their communities and empowering generations of
Emirati women to harness their potential as key players in the continued success of our beloved nation, this year we paid homage to Emirati ladies who have lived all their life by giving the best
to our great country. They are
role models to the young generation who can all follow their
path and learn the art of giving unconditionally.”
Lamia Abdulaziz Khan added, “We understand that adopting an active lifestyle is an important aspect of personal development for all women, regardless of age. Dubai Ladies Club was founded on the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Ladies Club and wife
of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
of Presidential Affairs, UAE, as a private haven for women to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing, and pursue their
interests in a safe and nurturing environment.”
The special event to honour ladies from Thukhur Social Club, which started in the morning, included an exciting line-up of programmes. Among the many activities, they enjoyed a fitness class tailor-made for the elderly and attended a lecture by a nutritionist from Dubai Health Authority on healthy eating habits of the elderly. The seniors also received treatment from Al Asalla Spa.
The end of the special event had two more attractions for senior women from all walks of life.
The Golden Membership for 60+ women of all nationalities was launched, wherein, they can avail a 50% discount on all Club membership packages. Also, two additional classes have been added to the fitness schedules of the Club, wherein, they can enroll for Gentle Yoga and Zumba Gold twice a week, henceforth.
