Dubai / WAM

Following up on the agreement signed last month, the Dubai Municipality9 (DM) supplied 700 Dubai Lamps to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
With the aim of promoting Dubai Lamp, the municipality had signed several agreements with a number of government and private organisations, as well as strategic partners including the RTA. This is the first batch of lamps dedicated to a strategic partner.
The installation of these lamps will begin this week in a number of buildings and facilities of the RTA. With this replacement, the RTA will save AED31,000 in electricity bills and reduce 66 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to planting 250,000 square metres of green space or the volume of consumption of electricity for ten houses per year.
Ahmed Saeed Al Badwawi, Director of the Applied Sustainability and Renewable Energy Department at the Dubai Municipality, said Dubai 2030 Plan aims to reduce the consumption of clean energy by 30 percent which will help save around 1,000 GW/year by 2021.
