Dubai Land Department (DLD) has announced the launch of a new e-system, which aims to contribute to its sustained efforts to provide sophisticated services to its customers in easy and convenient ways.
The new online portal (which ties into the Oqoodi system) has been developed by both the Technical Affairs Department and the Real Estate Registration Services Department, and is designed to provide a single portal for licensed survey companies to feed in data into the DLD database. The new system will also strengthen the partnership with the survey companies licensed by DLD, and replace paper-based processes with the sophisticated electronic procedures.
In line with directions from HE Sultan Butti bin Mijren, Director-General of DLD for increased transparency, a dedicated team from DLD worked together with certified survey companies to conduct specialized personnel training aimed at carrying out all functions covered by the new system, which included simulations of real estate data surveys and how to effectively work with the data to provide high-quality information for all interested parties and stakeholders. The training was attended by Mr Sultan Al Akraf, Senior Director of the Property Registration Department.
Director of DLD Technical Affairs Department, Mohamad Khodr Al-Dah, said, “We have developed a new system to survey properties, to shift from paper-based procedures to the e-system, and provide the quickest, best and most comprehensive services to our stakeholders to meet with their expectations.”
The new system allows the property developer to select and hire the licensed survey company directly online and assign them the relevant project to be surveyed. There is also a portal for secure payment of fees.
DLD was assisted by Emirates Real Estate Solutions (ERES) for development of the latest technology programming. The adoption of a fully electronic system ensures there is no need for any of the parties to attend DLD headquarters, which empowers the developer to market the properties directly and initiate sales procedures without delay, due to an improvement on the traditional paper procedures.
