DUBAI / WAM
The Primary Health Care (PHC) sector will witness a notable expansion in its facilities and services in the next phase, Dr Manal Taryam, CEO of PHC at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) revealed during the ‘Leaders at Your Service’ session, on Wednesday.
The DHA launched Leaders at Your Service, under the directives of Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the
DHA. The aim is to provide customers with an opportunity to directly express their feedback, suggestions, and complaints through the
authority’s call centre and
social media channels using the hashtag #LeadersAtYourService.
During the session, Dr Taryam answered the public’s questions, which mainly revolved around the centre’s services and expansion plans that aim to simplify procedures to reduce the waiting time of customers.
Commenting on the long waiting time and overcrowding, she said that all PHC centres will start implementing the unified smart electronic system ‘Salama’ from August.
The DHA-wide project will provide patients and doctors access to medical records through a patient portal and ensure that electronic patient medical record is available across the DHA health facilities. She added that once Salama is adopted, all medical records will be accessed electronically from all the centres.
She also announced that the Umm Suqeim, Al Qusais, and Abu Hail centres will reopen in the first quarter of 2018 after undergoing expansion. She added that the authority is currently trying to meet the high demand of patients by opening new specialised services and extending the time of some PHC centres by keeping them open even on Saturdays.
Dr Taryam said that the
authority prioritises customer satisfaction and focuses on exerting efforts to provide the best services at their ease and comfort.
