Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched the Smart Power Plant to develop its smart operations and achieve its vision to become a sustainable, innovative world-class utility.
The move comes in line with the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai the smartest city in the world.
“The launch of the Smart Power Plant is part of our efforts to speed up the transformation of Dubai into a smart city, in line with the Smart Dubai initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest city in the world. The Smart Power Plant will enhance the quality of life in Dubai and provide its community with efficient and reliable electricity and water services.
DEWA’s three smart initiatives, Shams Dubai, Smart Applications through Smart Meters and Grids and Green Charger, contribute to achieving smart transformation within the Emirate by building smart grids to achieve its vision. It is the first network in the world to provide customers with generation, transmission and distribution systems,†said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
