DED vows support to GCC manufacturing summit

The Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai, announced its support to the ‘GCC Manufacturing Excellence and Technology Summit’, which will focus on different methods to effectively manage the challenges in achieving operational efficiency and excellence in
manufacturing.
Saed Al Awadi, CEO of Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of DED, and Brad Hariharan, Regional Director of Expotrade Middle East, the organisers of the event, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of DED, to jointly promote the event among the various stakeholders, including manufacturers, traders, exporters and technology solutions providers.
“The summit is well-aligned with the approach adopted by Dubai Exports in enabling manufacturers and exporters in the UAE to leverage the regulatory and infrastructure frame work at home to emerge as global players. Excellence and innovations in manufacturing are key to Dubai making successful inroads into the growing number of promising markets in its vicinity,” commented Al Awadi.
“We are thrilled to have the support of DED for the summit. The government’s focus on the manufacturing sector has significantly contributed to the economy thereby creating new opportunities and more importantly, encouraging new investments in the region. With the UAE manufacturing landscape evolving tremendously, this summit brings together leading practitioners representing multiple disciplines in the manufacturing field to share insights in achieving operational excellence in manufacturing,” Brad Hariharan, said.
The summit will gather over 600 senior level delegates from the manufacturing sector based in the UAE and from across the globe during its run from on November
14-15.
