The National Health Insurance Company – Daman, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), is undertaking throughout 2016 a series of specialised workshops to enhance the health care in Abu Dhabi. The main areas of focus include developing health insurance practices in SEHA’s medical facilities and improving the experiences of end-users.
The workshops cover best practices in issuing and managing medical claims, improving standards of patient assessment, issuing timely pre-approvals and related financial and administrative practices. These elements allow for a smoother and speedier access to healthcare services for patients by making the processes involved more efficient.
This latest announcement is in line with the ongoing cooperation between SEHA and Daman to offer patients the highest standards of healthcare.
“These workshops are important because they develop interoperability between our organisations. This kind of cooperation is good news for everyone involved, but most importantly it will have a direct and positive impact on the way patients receive healthcare services,” said Hamad Al Mehyas, Chief Process Officer, Daman.
SEHA, with its network of medical facilities and hospitals, represents 37 percent of the total financial claims to Daman — the highest source of claims made to the company. The workshops covered a wide array of issues relating to various branches of medicine, including internal medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, rheumatology, paediatrics, oncology and others, as well as billing procedures.
“We are delighted to work with Daman to improve financial practices related to health insurance. These workshops demonstrate our ongoing efforts to improve the quality of the claims issuance process and to further develop and sustain, world-class health services,” said Rashed Saif Al Qubaisi, Chief Financial Officer, SEHA.
Workshop administrators also performed a full assessment of current procedures, with the aim of raising the standard of services offered to patients and further upgrading the government health sector.
The ongoing workshops include medical claims officers, specialised medical teams from Daman and medical and financial specialists from SEHA.
Daman and SEHA officials stressed their commitment toward the continuing development of health services in Abu Dhabi, with the aim of achieving the highest levels of patient satisfaction, thereby fulfilling the joint vision of the two companies for the government health sector.
