DAMAC pavillion at ATM is one of the most frequented arenas as company’s innovative AYKON City development is causing quite a stir by presenting the crowning glory of the project in the form of the emirate’s first-of-its-kind tourist attraction, AYKON Dare.
Situated at the crown of the tallest tower in AYKON City, daredevils can venture out onto the impressive roofline with nothing between them but fresh air and the city at over 935 feet(285 metres) below. Modelled on the experiences offered by the EdgeWalk at Toronto’s iconic CN Tower or the Sky Tower’s SkyWalk in Auckland, AYKON Dare put visitors ‘in harness’ and takes them to the edge, like never before in Dubai. Accessible from the 78th floor lounge and dining room, visitors walk out onto the landing platform before beginning their ascent, where they are harnessed to the safety rail leading up the roofline to the upper level.
On a clear day, the whole of Dubai can be viewed panoramically, with vistas stretching as far as the Dubai/Abu Dhabi border, not to mention a dramatic outlook across to the Burj area and Business Bay. Directly below are Dubai Canal and the vehicular backbone of the emirate, Sheikh Zayed Road.
More excitement follows when visitors step up and out into the glass-floored viewing capsule in the tower’s AYKONIC DAMAC’s ‘D’. Imagine standing in a glass box 935 feet (285 metres) above Sheikh Zayed Road – it’s both fascinating, and terrifying.
AYKON City has enjoyed a tremendous response, being the first freehold project made available for purchase on Sheikh Zayed Road. With its prime location overlooking the new Dubai Canal mega-project in the Golden Quadrant, its unique concept, an entire city set within the metropolis of Dubai, will be a new architectural icon on the skyline.
