Customs’ role in UAE economy highlighted

The UAE 2nd Customs Week began on Sunday under the theme ‘smart borders’, to help educate all segments of society and encourage them support customs activities and role in society and the national economy.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, said, “It’s very important to help everyone learn about essential role customs departments in UAE play to sustain economic growth and protect the country. This will help us serve our clients in a better way to achieve better growth.”
Musabih pointed out the activities of 2nd UAE Customs Week are meant to reach out to different clients, partners, employees and the public where customs services are provided, and thro- ugh smart digital applicati-ons and online channels.
“Some of our activities are targeting school and university students in order to raise awareness on role customs departments play in securing borders, supporting national economy and efforts in hosting grand events like Expo 2020.”
