Boasting of exemplary corporate structure and productivity, companies in the UAE are now pulling up their socks to stay at pace with the international standards in employment, by focusing on elements like company culture and digital presence.
According to a recent survey, transparent company culture and effective online presence have become a top priority for UAE employers.
Industry leaders opine that since
the UAE is home to around 200 different nationalities, it is important for
employees to be familiar with company culture.
Shradha Puri, recruitment head at job-search service agency VisionJob, told Emirates Business, “There are a lot of companies that are striving hard to maintain international standards of employment because UAE, due to presence of all major global companies, is looked up to for creating healthy employment standards. In recent years, there has been a major shift-of-focus in UAE corporates, in terms of hiring and retaining the talent.”
Puri added that a prominent digital presence on social media and other
online medium has become very important for corporates. “In the world
of technology, job seekers take 70 percent of their opinion about your company through your online presence. Rest of the decisions like salary benefits and growth opportunities come later,” she said.
With a diverse population, UAE companies are also paying special attention to make employees from different cultural backgrounds comfortable. This refers to the concept of workplace intelligence which is rapidly becoming popular here, industry leaders say.
Talking about the role of concept of ‘company culture’, Ali Matar, Head of LinkedIn Talent Solutions, Southern Europe, Middle East and North Africa said in an official statement citing
a recent research, “Getting specific about your company’s culture and
values will also meet job seekers’
desire to know more about their
long-term prospects before jumping into a role.”
