Following is the full text of his speech:
“The 30th of November is a day of loyalty and gratitude to the nation’s martyrs and honour and recognition for their sacrifices. Sacrificing souls is the utmost level of giving, the highest degree of acts of heroism, and the greatest meaning of belonging and loyalty to the homeland.
We in the UAE, the leadership and the people, will not forget those who sacrificed their lives on the fields of duty, in defence of the Union, to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its citizens, and to keep its flag flying high and a symbol of pride and nobility.
On this day, we pledge to our martyrs that their sacrifices will remain role medals of dignity and glory, and will guide the way for generations, and that the stories of their martyrdom will remain examples of pride in loving and defending the homeland, and that their children, families, and loved ones will remain our responsibility, that the homeland will take care of them.
On this national occasion, we call on our children to adhere to the noble values demonstrated by the nation’s martyrs and to take them as role models and a source of inspiration in work, loyalty, and love of the nation.
The sacrifices of our martyrs mirrored the values of sacrifice and giving that were established by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the founding fathers, and in the same way we are following their legacy, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
I pray to Allah the Almighty preserve our country, a hub of peace and love, and to rest the souls of our martyrs in Paradise and to grant their parents and families patience, as well as permanent security, safety, and stability for the UAE.”
